Hi there, I’m Birte, a Brussels-born Belgian-Australian, shaped by fifteen years in London, Amsterdam, and Sydney and now back in Brussels, the city that feels most like me: raw, layered, and a little unpredictable.
I’m someone who’s always moved between worlds. Corporate and creative. Structure and instinct. People and solitude. Photography became the place where all of that comes together. |
My work moves between nature, documentary and sports. I’m drawn to intensity, to real moments, to tension, to what sits just beneath the surface. At the same time, I need stillness. Nature gives me that. It slows me down, sharpens my attention, and reminds me what matters.
What drives me is curiosity. About people, about behaviour, about what shapes us and what breaks through. That’s where my images come from. For me, photography is not just what I see and capture. It’s what stays with me, and what I hope will stay with you.
To deepen my practice, I am currently in my 3rd year of a BA in Photography at LUCA School of Arts in Brussels, a demanding journey that brings me both rigor and freedom, pushing me to refine my voice and vision.
