Hi there, I'm Birte, a Belgian-Australian photographer.
I was born in Brussels, spent fifteen years living abroad in London, Amsterdam and Sydney, and eventually found my way back. Those years shaped how I look at the world: with curiosity, openness and a fascination for people, places and the stories that connect them. I’m someone who’s always moved between worlds. Corporate and creative. Structure and instinct. People and solitude. Photography became the place where all of that comes together. |
For me, photography combines many of the things I love most: observing, travelling, learning, connecting and sometimes simply slowing down enough to truly see.
My work moves between wildlife, nature, landscape, event and sports photography. At first glance, those worlds may seem far apart, but they are connected by the same thing: authenticity. Whether it's a Dalmatian pelican gliding over a Greek lake, a young basketball player finding confidence on the court, or a stranger whose story deserves to be seen, I'm drawn to moments that feel real.
I'm less interested in perfection than in presence. In emotion rather than performance. In photographs that reveal something beyond what is immediately visible.
Currently, I'm in my third year of a BA in Photography at LUCA School of Arts in Brussels, where I'm continuing to develop both my technical skills and my personal voice.
When I'm not behind a camera, you'll probably find me travelling, coaching, playing basketball or planning my next adventure.
